Surrendering A Cat
Surrendering Your Cat or Found a Stray?
We know that asking for help is never easy. If you're considering surrendering a cat, please know you’re not alone — and reaching out shows you care about their welfare.
Can We Take Your Cat?
We are a small, foster-based rescue and usually full. However, we have a high turnover, and
spaces can become available at short notice.
When we do have space, we prioritise vulnerable cats.
If we cannot take the cat immediately, we may keep in touch and offer a space when one becomes available and offer support and advice on keeping it safe in the meantime.

If You Still Need To Surrender Your Cat

Genie - rescued & rehomed by Cafo November 2025
If, after exploring all options, you do still need to rehome your cat, we understand — sometimes it truly is the kindest decision.
Please complete our surrender form HERE and we will do our best to help.
Please Do Not Use Social Media or Classified Ads, even when people appear genuine, these platforms carry serious risks:
-
No safeguarding or checks – anyone can claim to be a loving home
-
Risk of exploitation – cats may be used for breeding, resale, or worse
-
Impulse decisions – adopters may not be prepared for long-term care
-
Difficulty tracing – once the cat is gone, you may not be able to follow up
Found a Stray Cat?
Please do not assume a cat is homeless. Many cats roam freely and some owners do not use collars.
Before contacting us:
-
Ask neighbours if they recognise the cat.
-
Post in local lost & found groups (not as a rehoming advert).
-
Take the cat to a vet to scan for a microchip - this is free (or contact us - we can scan if we have anyone available).
-
Check local lost pet listings.

If the cat is:
-
Injured
-
Severely underweight
-
Pregnant and struggling
-
Very young and alone

Please contact us via our contact form HERE and if we have capacity to help or offer advice we will be in touch.
