Male, 6 Years Old
...
Gordon had been living in a garden for several months, quietly surviving on his own, when it became clear he was suffering with painful dental problems. Once we were able to step in, we brought him straight into our care so he could finally get the help he so desperately needed.
Gordon went in for his neuter on Friday, and while he was there the vets took the opportunity to recheck his mouth and carry out an FIV test. Based on the severity of his injuries and the many bite wounds and scars he carried, we had feared the result — and heartbreakingly, it was confirmed that Gordon is FIV positive.
This poor boy has been through so much. He needed four teeth removed, including his front teeth, and also required a suture to help support his broken jaw. Yet through all of this — the pain, the fear, the trauma — Gordon never lost his gentle spirit. He purred throughout his care, leaned in for affection, and showed nothing but trust and love. What a brave little soul.
It’s painfully clear that Gordon was once someone’s pet — he’s far too affectionate not to have known love before. And yet, like so many others, he was left unneutered and unchipped, forced to fend for himself until his body bore the cost.
Now, Gordon is finally safe. From this point on, he will know warmth, comfort, and kindness — and the love he has always deserved.
