Suzie came into the rescue from a small colony, where she had already had several litters in alleyways. When she first arrived, she was very hissy and defensive — but never nasty in any way, just absolutely terrified.

Thanks to the kindness of the finder who had been feeding her, she had some very slight positive human contact before coming in, which really helped give her a starting point.

She then went into foster with us, heavily pregnant and shortly afterwards gave birth in a safe little hiding place to four gorgeous kittens.

Suzie has been an incredible mum. She’s cared for her babies beautifully, and they are growing stronger every day.

But the most amazing part of this story is Suzie herself…

In such a short space of time, she has come on so much. She now comes over to her foster mum when she enters the room, gently takes treats from her hand, rolls over, and rubs up against her. She’s really turned that corner we always hoped she would — showing the loving nature that was hidden behind all that fear.
