FEEDING KITTENS – NOT AVAILABLE YET - FRIENDLY CAT
...
Around 11 months ago, Maggie and her son were left in limbo when their elderly owner was hospitalised with dementia. Sadly, she passed away over six months ago. Although family members initially said they would arrange help, no support came, the house was sold, and the cats were left behind.
Their temporary carer did everything she could to help, contacting rescues and charities but unable to secure a space. With two French Bulldogs, young children, and being 20 weeks pregnant, the situation became increasingly difficult and unsafe. The cats had never lived with dogs and conflicts led to repeated vet visits.
During this time, Maggie sadly became pregnant after local tom cats gained access despite the carer’s best efforts. It was never meant to be a permanent arrangement, and she was left without support.
Cafo Rescue then stepped in, even without immediate space, knowing the situation couldn’t continue. Maggie and her son are now being fostered separately to reduce stress and assess their needs.
Maggie is a beautiful short-haired calico and the more confident of the two. She is settling well in foster care and using her litter tray properly.
She has given birth to 4 beautiful kittens whilst in foster and once they are weaned, Maggie will be speyed and will then be looking for her forever home.
